10 November 2021, Wednesday, 16.00

The Parliamentary election held in Iraq on 10 October 2021 are significant as they are the first early elections, beyond being the fifth Parliamentary elections held after 2003. On the other hand, with the use of a new electoral system in line with the demands of the demonstrators, which caused the elections to be held early, well-organized political parties, tribal representatives and well-known candidates came to the fore. In the light of these developments, Aydın Maruf, the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Region Minister in Charge of Formations and the Member of the Executive Board of the Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITF), will evaluate the elections in terms of both Iraq and the KRG. In addition, Minister Maruf will answer the questions of the participants about the situation of the Turkmens in Iraq, the latest developments in the KRG, the latest attacks of the terrorist organization ISIS and the security situation.
