Işınsu Acar completed her undergraduate education at Özyeğin University in the Department of International Relations in 2020. She served as an intern at the Economic Development Foundation (IKV) on EU studies and at the Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV) on sustainable urban projects. Ms. Acar has worked on the sociology and politics of secularism and religion as a research assistant at Özyeğin University. Conducting research on humanitarian aid and operations, Ms. Acar is particularly interested in the developments regarding refugee camps and internally displaced people and the activities of aid organizations, especially in Syria. In addition, post-Arab Spring social movements and democratization-culture studies are among her areas of research. After her undergraduate education, Ms. Acar took and successfully achieved online training on related subjects. She is currently working as a research assistant at ORSAM, in the Department of Levant Studies. She speaks advanced English and intermediate German.
